1st Grade Line Monsters
!st Grade students painted different types of Lines to create these monsters.
Line is a basic element of art. It is the starting point for most artistic creations, wether a drawing, painting, or a sketch for a sculpture.

Some Ways Artist use Line
  • 3. to outline; a starting place for many drawings or paintings
  • 2. to suggest moods or emotion; lines can appear calm, nervous, angry, etc.
3. to lead the viewers eye through a work of art
4. to create lightness or darkness; lines placed close together appear darker than those placed further from each other
5. to create texture; roughness or smoothness

6th Grade Dodo Birds
Students use a variety of media to create these colorful creatures.

International Dot Day Collage

Our Dot Day project was created for International Dot Day. Each student from Kindergarten through 6th grade created their own unique dot to be added to our collage.

Observed annually on September 15th since 2009

International Dot Day is a holiday in which people of all ages are encouraged to harness their own creativity and embrace their own confidence as they make their mark on the world. On this day, people are encouraged to embrace their talents – regardless of whether it’s writing, painting, drawing or some other creative medium and share their Dot Day inspiration with others. It doesn’t matter if you’re an educator or student, or a parent or child, we all have a creative spark that we can ignite with just a little bit of bravery and encouragement.
